About Us

Working together to lessen the impact of cancer in West Virginia.

Mountains of Hope (MOH) was founded in 1999 to serve as a place where individuals could come together to improve cancer outcomes in West Virginia. Over 25 years later, MOH is comprised of almost 200 dedicated individuals who work collaboratively to achieve the Coalition’s primary goal of lessening the impact of cancer in the Mountain State.  

We come together as a coalition four times each year to learn about what is happening in the state related to cancer prevention and control,  to bring our collective expertise and experience together in project planning, and to evaluate our impact across the state.   

MOH has three subcommittees broken down by focus area: Prevention, Early Detection, and Quality of Life. Each member can choose to participate in whichever subcommittee aligns most with their individual passions and goals.  

By coming together as subcommittees and as the coalition, we can combine our efforts more effectively and make a significant impact on health and healthcare in our state.
